Sistene Cistene Sistine
I prefer Sistine. Sorry, I couldn't let it go. I hope you are not testing how pedantic I am.
when i worked for a book store i became familiar with beka text books for home school.. i spoke with the mothers who came looking for them.
i realized something didn't smell right.. then, i realized there are a couple of generations of fundamentalist kids who have had no exposure.
to the scientific method, science facts or any conversancy with physics or biology or history as a result of beka textbooks.. in a nutshell here is the situation:.

Terry,
"Cistine Chapel"
Time to get a 3x5 card with the word "Sistine"
Correcting guys/ladies who are smarter and more knowledgeable than I am makes me feel smart, even if for a moment.
By the way, thank you for your great comments. I never skip your threads.
I also believe that there's home schooling and there's home schooling. Similarly there are public schools and there are public schools. Public school, especially in some areas of Los Angeles County, are not much better than home schooling for christians, just more dangerous
the kingdom hall of jehovah's witnesses is having a memorial celebration on april 14, 2014 at 7:05 pm pst at the westlake hyatt in westlake village, ca, usa.. i am thinking about greeting celebratants as they leave with poster(s) and business cards with qr codes for www.jwfacts.com and www.freedomofmind.com.
my intent is not to debate or convert "spiritual strong" (non-thinking) jws, but to provide life-saving information to "spiritually weak" (still thinking) jws suffering from the wtbts's "undue influence" and bite control.
i might even be eating crackers (and cheese) and drinking red wine at the exit.. my plan is to place up to three posters across from the exit of the celebration and then place business-size cards with "critically think for yourself" and qr codes on the back.
Hi ABS,
You seem to live in area that I visit quite frequently. I service office equipment in the entire county actually. I am curious about what apostates look like. I have never met one. I am not an apostate because I never got baptized, so my reflection in the mirror doesn' help. I bet you guys have horns and tails. Let's meet
just read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.
congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.
congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.
Emeth is not violating any prohibition to read and write in apostate sites. His presence here is sanctioned by high ranking members of the WT. He is here to counteract the negative effects of apostate information and reduce the bleeding. He is part of the schemers, not the schemed. He is evidence that the WT is losing slowly to apostates. It's just a matter of time.
Just random conspiracy theories.
where is salisbury township?
who will own this residential village for elderly jw's?
spending $6.5 million to build it, housing up to 38 individuals.
What happens if viagra is found in the room of a man who is known to be a widower or never married? What happens if the viagra package is found in a lady's room? If disfellowshipping applies, will they have enough time to atone their sin and come back to a good standing status. Remember that they are seniors, often with a short time to live. I guess there's not much time to "Wait on Jehovah".
there is something all too familiar about it, something that sickens the stomach and reminds us how low and prejudiced evil minds can go.. those who divide humans up in order to weaken and conquer them will stop at nothing if not counterfeit reasoning to justify their evil.. .
the arguments made in the past and the arguments made in the present have a familiar ring to them and the false clanger is a note of warning!.
"if you give women the right to vote, you're just doubling the vote of their husband.".
I am ambivalent. Terry has a point. Myelaine has a point...Smiddy has a point... Am I therefore trivalent then? Is there a such a term? In chemistry maybe? It's all too confusing... She is my daughter...she is my sister... my daughter... my sister...
im new here and im 17, going to turn 18 in 1 week.
i studied with my gradma the bible teach book and went to meeting with her and other relatives (considering most my relatives are jw except my parents) and i believe in all of it because i never read the bible for myself.
after reading the gospels i started noticing contradictions in the jw doctrine like when jesus said many would dine with the patriachs in the kingdom of heaven (yet only 144,000 jws can) which would seem odd considering the fact he adressed this to more then the apostles.
Welcome Yogo. Great job! Stay long. The forum needs your input and you need other's input.

"Much of this need is in parts of the world where the cost of property and building materials is high"
Much...much..much Where have I seen this word before? where, where. Now I remember, Watchtower November 2011, public edition, page 27.
Don't you love how the Watchtower carefully chooses words to deceive. Just like in the former context the WT wants the reader to interpret MUCH as most, when in reality is actually very little. See the statement below to defend 607 BCE (or 1914):
“Clearly, much of the astronomical data in VAT 4956 fits the year 588 B.C.E. as the 37th year of Nebuchadnezzar II” (WT 11/11 public, pg 27)
Because I have taken the time to research the subject in detail, I can assure you that "much" in this case means 6/36 or less than 17 % using generous criteria, or 0% using strict criteria.
Instead of being specific, the writer uses much to imply "most" when they know darn well that it actually means "very little"
The growth of the WT s in countries where land and materials are dirt cheap, Developed countries are losing converts.

It looks as if the GB (or the leaders, whoever they are) want to push people out. Less people means less real estate needed, and therefore it can be sold and turned into cash. Cash is easier to hide or disappear in the disbursements journal.
i'm sitting here at the mtg, and i can't believe the mind numbing stupidity of this weeks wt "study"...( i use the word study loosely too by the way...).
how many dumb repeated questions can be posed to try and make a point?.
the opening paragraph illustration re blindness is classic!
I missed the good old days of institutionalized racism, lower levels of education, segregated education, less women attending college. Go a little farther back and you get slavery, women disenfranchised, much lower life expectancy, infants dying at a much higher rates. Yes I can see how much worse we got it today: equality for homosexuals and women, better child protection, higher standards of living, higher literacy rates, even animal rights, etcetera. I missed the good old days of "leave it to Beaver" ideal life in the white middle class suburbs. I missed those days when sexual child abuse would go undetected and unreported, black people were segregated and even lynched just for being black. Today things are horrible. How dare young people question the repressive and oppressive values of older generations.
